Yamhill Valley Vineyards 2022 Estate Pinot Noir
Yamhill Valley Vineyards 2022 Estate Pinot Noir
The Wine
Up to 30% of the grapes were kept on the cluster (i.e., NOT de-stemmed) during fermentation, to amplify the high notes of tart red cherries. Each lot was fermented separately and aged in barrel for about 10 months before blending - an exercise the winery describes as follows "It's like and an artist chooses colors, we craft the wine with different expressions of our site to create the complexity of our estate, winemaking, and barrel program in one bottling."
Tasting Notes: Garnet color, strawberry skin, black currant, fine velvet tannins. 13.5% ABV. Great value here!
Winemaker: Ariel Eberle
The Winery
Established in 1983, Yamhill Valley Vineyards was the second vineyard in the
McMinnville AVA. Today they produce 100% estate-grown wines from their 150-acre estate located in the Willamette Valley.
The combination of geologic history and geographic location makes for intense and enduring wines. Their Estate Pinot Noir is a blend of Pinot grapes from various Pinot Noir blocks in thier vineyards. It is a good expression of Yamhill Valley Vineyards' specific terroir.
