Uccelliera 2022 Rosso di Montalcino

Winemaker Andrea Cortonesi purchased what eventually became the Uccelliera  estate in 1986. The land  was once part of neighboring Ciacci Piccolomini where, for years, refined  his trade as cellar master for Ciacci.  Eventually  Andrea ventured out on his own, and in 1991,  released to the world his first vintage of Uccelliera  Rosso di Montalcino...a mere 500 bottles!

Since then, the production has thrived and Andrea is known,  through those in the know, as a winemaker who over delivers for the price.  And to boot, the 2022 vintage is considered one of best vintages of recent memory due to near perfect wine growing weather in the region.

Full bodied with well integrated tannins.  Pairs well with anything on the grill, mushroom based dishes, red sauce pasta and pizza.  An absolute gem!
