The Wine
One of our favorite summer wines in our entire portfolio, we never get tired of this wine. Clean and crisp, of course, but with enough stuffing to keep it interesting for the entire evening, with or without a meal.

In the world of Sauvignon Blanc, there is a wide range of styles, from the New Zealand style (aromas of freshly mown lawns, basil and bell pepper) to the classic Loire Valley style (chalk, wet stones and mineral-driven). This California version treads the middle ground, making it loved by a wide range of people of all ages, races and leanings.

The Winery
Lieu Dit is a partnership of longtime friends - Master Sommelier Eric Railsback and Winemaker Justin Willett. The two met in Santa Barbara while Eric was finishing college and Justin was just beginning his career in winemaking. They were among a small group of young winemakers and restaurateurs in Santa Barbara unified by a common interest in wine and all its mysteries.

After countless bottles and many trips to France, Railsback and Willett founded Lieu Dit in 2011, focusing solely on Loire Valley grape varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Melon de Bourgogne, Cabernet Franc...) but grown in Santa Barbara County. The county's varied micro-climates and marine-based soils are ideally suited to this family of grapes.
