The Wine
- Terrific mineral expression and depth at Mâcon-like pricing.
- The main base comes from Jurassic; from the Kimmeridgian some 150 million years ago. There is thus a deposit of tiny oysters deposits in the rocks, remnants of the warm and shallow seas that covered Burgundy at the time.
- Chablis is a world-famous French white wine appellation. The main characteristic you'll find in its wines: Minerality!
Tasting notes - Aromas of white flowers, citrus fruit aromas, then ripe fruit notes. On the palate, good fruit takes center stage, accompanied by beautiful mineral notes. Good length on the palate.
The Winery
This Chablis-based firm under family control for 300 years. Now run by Didier Lamblin and his brother Michel. Home base is the village of Maligny, on the northernmost tip of the region’s Kimmeridgian soils. Think of Lamblin as a “hybrid” negociant – About 20% of Lamblin’s production comes from their own vineyard land, and the remainder from partner growers.
