Kermit Lynch Vaucluse Blanc
Kermit Lynch Vaucluse Blanc
The Wine
A refreshing blend of Chardonnay and Viognier. While this may not be a combination that immediately springs to mind, it works really, really well! Aromas of warm peaches fresh off the tree precedes a crisp and minerally finish. A lively dry white that's the perfect guest to invite to your next picnic or weeknight dinner table. It's a favorite of our staff at the Alameda store, as you likely know if you've gone in there and asked for "an affordable white wine"!
The wine is from the Vaucluse, a department in France's southern Rhone Valley, which contains the famed town of Avignon. It takes its name from a famous spring, a source of pure, clear water for centuries. The wines of this region can be pricey ($50 - $80), but for the most part you'll find them to be delicoius and affordable every-day quaffers like this one.
As always, wine club members enjoy 10% off our list price.
The Winery
With their power as an importer and contacts on the ground that have been nurtured over a 50+ year history, Kermit Lynch has access to grape sources and production facilities and talent that are necessary to produce a wine of this quality for so little money. They're not the only ones who do this, but we think they do it well, despite the anonymity of their grape sources and production facilities!
