The Wine

Of all their wines, Vin Soave is Inama' largest bottling every year. This is their entry-level wine that over-delivers because the fruit comes from vineyards farmed the same way as their reserve wines. They describe it as “a little everyday luxury.”

The wine is made of 100% Garganega (gahr GAH neh guh) from vineyard selections located in Monteforte d'Alpone and Soave - two designated growing regions within the Veneto. Vines are 30 years of age, growing on Basaltic lava soils.

All fruit is hand picked, de-stemmed and crushed, followed by 4-12 hours of skin contact and gentle pressing then cold settling for 12-24 hours at very cold temperatures. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the wine's mouthwatering acidity. Racking and maturation then takes place in stainless steel for about 8 months.

The use of stainless-steel tanks stresses the importance of freshness and Garganega's floral notes. Along with the enhanced minerality from the vineyards' volcanic soil, the result is a wine with great versatility in combination with food.

The Winery

Inama follows their own path in producing their wines, which tends to wag the tongues the local of gossip-lovers of Soave. But the Inama family is more concerned about crafting the best wine possible than what their neighbors or the industry rags might say. Sometimes, this includes flouting regional conventions, which means they must put wine on the market that doesn't benefit from the organization's marketing power. This is an exception to that tendency, a quality wine made by following the local ordinances. It's also their entry-level wine!
