Colpaola 2022 Verdicchio di Matelica

The Wine

From vineyards 2,100 feet above sea level comes this aromatic white wine. Verdicchio grown in the Matelica region are broader than those from other regions, though this is still light on its feet, weighing in at 13.5% ABV. This is a mouth-watering wine showing complex minerality and a subtle almond-like bitterness on the finish.  

Pairing Suggestions

• Shellfish - shrimp, clams, mussels and oysters all work well
• Fish, grilled, fried or baked, especially with a squeeze of lemon
• Poulry (divine accompaniment ot chicken piccata!)
• Pasta with a lemon or herb sauce, cream sauce (a cleansing contrast) or a simple seafood pasta with garlic, chopped parsley and olive oil!
