The Wine
The Petaluma Gap has a bouquet that suggest dried cherry, baking spice, and dry forest floor. On the palate, it has a silky entry and lovely, round mouth feel with flavors of berry compote, blackberry and figs, and dried cherry. It finishes with dried cherry and dried plum.
The Winery
Garry Brooks began his career in the Lab and Cellar at Ravenswood in 2004. In 2008 he was Kosta Borwne's Enologist for 2 vintages. He learned to make exceptional quality, small batch Pinot’s at Kosta Browne, and was part of the team that helped produce the 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, which was Wine Spectator’s wine of the year in 2011.
Garry Brooks and his wife Joanne Note started their own label - Brooks Note - with the 2011 harvest. They remain reliable producers of wines that punch above their weight in terms of the value they deliver.
