The Wine

This wine is a classic expression of Ribolla Gialla, a renowned white varietal. Aromas of citrus notes mingle with hints of crisp green apple and delicate floral undertones. Bright acidity is balanced by a rich texture that leads into a refreshing finish that lingers on the palate.

Food Pairings

  • Oysters work well with the wine's bright citrus notes
  • Prosciutto-wrapped melon
  • Olives drizzled in a citrus marinade
  • Any rich fish (seabass, salmon) especially when grilled
  • Roasted chicken
  • Butternut squash risoto
  • Cheeses - Pecorino Romano, Roctta Salata, Goat cheeses fresh or aged

The Vines

The Tercic winery is situated in the Collio DOC found in northern Italy near the border with Slovenia. The winery's name is in fact from Slovenia, not Italy, and is pronounced "TER sitch". This region is home to breathtaking hillsides covered in vineyards over 3,600 acres. The Collio terroir is a blend of its regional tradition and its unique geology, each contributing to the distinctive character of Tercic wines.

The Winery

The Tercic family history in this village dates back 300 years. The village and its surrounding vineyards were devasted by WWI. The family rebuilt and expanded during the difficult periods that lasted through the 1980s, becoming a respected grower of produce including high quality grapes they sold to local winemakers. They also produced small amounts for their own use.

It wasn't until 1993 when the family's third generation decided to leverage their quality fruit with the family's own wine. Their first release was 167 cases of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Now the baton is being passed to the fourth generation - Ana Tercic completed her enology degree in 2020 and is workig at her father's side to learn the business before taking over the family winery.
