Andrew Murray 2022 Tous les Jours Syrah
The Wine
Andrew Murray's 'Tous les Jours' Syrah is the highest rated and most beloved Syrah under $25, with a 14 year track record scoring 90 or above by a major wine publication! Roughly translated, Tous les Jours means 'everyday', and it represents Andrew's everday line of wines that are separate from his $50 - $100 bottlings from selected vineyards. But these wines offer exeptional value. I've been proud to carry Andrew's wines for 20 years now, ever since one of his wines landed a cameo in the movie Sideways - it's the wine Miles (Paul Giamatti) and Maya (Virginia Madsen) pull from the rack in the kitchen before they retreat to the patio and describe why they love wine.
The Syrah Tous les Jours is a classic Syrah from the Santa Ynez Valley (CA Santa Barbara County). It is
bold but balanced, rich and yet smooth, fruit forward and earthy. In short, it is dark, dense and full-bodied, but not over the top. It is heavily inspired by the great Syrahs of the Northern Rhone (think Hermitage) married to Australian Shiraz (Barossa Valley) reflecting Andrew's own history.
The wine offer aromas and flavors of black cherry, raspberry, white pepper, forest floor and spicy oak picked up during its 16 months in French oak barrels. Ultimately, it is a style that one can enjoy every day.

The Winery
For over 30 years, Andrew Murray has been singularly (some would say 'maniacally') focused on Syrah. Introduced at a young age to the excellent wines of the northern Rhône Valley during family travels in France, Andrew traded UC Berkeley for UC Davis and began studying enology and viticulture.
He pursued his new mistress, Syrah, with an extended internship in Australia at the age of 18. What began as a tryst evolved into a full-fledged love Syrahian affair.
