| This wine is from the mountainous Sierra de Gredos region of Spain. The wines from this region are almost pinot-like, that is to say, light and lifted, with tantalizing, high-toned fruit notes.
The region has gained respect in recent decades as the once-dominant cooperatives have been forced to make room for independent producers who have raised the bar on quality. These much-improved wines have been able to compete effectively in a crowded export marketplace. Great value, here!
If your idea of a Spanish Garnacha/Garnatxa was formed by those from Priorat or Aragon, you'll be surprised by this wine. It's a very different breed of cat!
